Questions and Answers
I'm coming off of Xanax and Seroquel and was told St John's Wort is a healthier alternative. My question is… How can consuming large ammounts of any plant be good? It's far from natural.
4000mg of St John's wort per day… How much of the plant would I have to consume to get the equivalent of what the tablet gives me?
If you're looking for an immediate stand-in, SJW won't do squat. You need to take it over a week at least to get any effect; and high levels as your are implying can be toxic due to other substances in the plant. It doesn't produce a single alkaloid for our benefit only.
I would take ashwagandha, valerian, and kava as a stand-in for xanax; kanna as a stand-in for Seroquel. Plenty of water, low-sugar diet, and a daily mulitvitamin are also indicated for withdrawal.
And if you have any advice for people under the challenging condition…
Yes. My soul-mate b/f and I have been together for 7 years, since he was
19. He was diagnosed with clinical depression as a teenager and will
suffer from it IF we don't do 3 important things regularly.
1. We tickle each other often, and if he feels depression coming on
I will restrain and tickle him until he is exhausted. But the endorphins
released by his laughter "cure" his depression for long periods.
2. We get lots of sunlight. We moved to Key West first and now live
just north of Miami, and we make sure he gets plenty of beach time.
Sunlight is important in treating depression. Sea water is too,(swimming).
3. He takes ashwagandha root, borage and lavender flowers made into
herbal tea every day. We also watch his diet because certain foods
can trigger depression.
So far these things have allowed him to live happy and healthy without
taking psychotropic drugs which are known to actually worsen depression
over time with danger of suicide. His love language is touch, so I give him
long sensuous massages, loofah baths and lots of foot rubs. He also
loves tickling me silly, and laughs almost as much as I do when doing it,
and that alleviates his symptoms as well.
I drink about a gallon of various herbal teas daily made from organic dried herbs such as Gotu Kola, Chamomile, Lemongrass, Lavender, Ginkgo Boloba, Bilberry, Eleuthero Root, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola. .etc. And green tea
With purified water and no sweeteners added, just straight.
Are my teeth in danger of becoming eroded?
No teeth won't get eroded with that but will get stained.
